Bi-Provincial Try A Trade Career Expo

Forecasts indicate the construction industry in Alberta will need an additional 90,000 workers over the next decade. There is fierce competition with all other industries in attracting youth, so we in the construction industry must be proactive. With this, the Lloydminster Construction Association (LCA) along with affiliated industry trade associations will be partnering in the upcoming “CONSTRUCTION CAREER EXPO” to be held at the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds on Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Students from all high schools in Lloydminster and surrounding area will be invited to experience first hand the various construction career opportunities that are available, and how they can commence to build their career in construction. The LCA is proud to report this will be the first Construction Career Expo in the area.

The focus of this event is to promote careers in construction in which today’s youth will be able to explore a wide range of options for a career in an industry that employs 1.3 million Canadians. It will also give your business a unique opportunity to promote your company, your industry and to hire today’s youth.

Booths are available to showcase your company while the various trade associations will have dynamic interactive displays. Booth space is available in 10-foot increments as noted below. LCA encourages your company to also put forward an interactive/hands on display that will entice students to commence building a career in construction. Don’t miss out on this exciting event!
